Risica and Sons, Inc. was originally established in 1960 by Sam Risica, in Edinburg, TX as Edinburg Glass company. The company began on 315 W. Harriman, which is now University in Edinburg, TX. In 1963, Sam Risica purchased a building at 224 N. Closner, Edinburg, and operated there as Edinburg Glass Company, until 1975 when he purchased a building in McAllen, TX when his oldest son, Ron, who had a degree from Pan American University in Business Administration, joined the company. The name was then changed to RISICA AND SONS, INC. – GLASS. Later, Pat, who had a degree from Pan American University in Marketing, joined the company, so Sam purchased a building in Harlingen, TX. Ron moved to that location and Pat ran the McAllen location. Tony, having a degree in Draftsmanship from the University of Houston, joined the company in 1980 as an estimator for commercial projects. The youngest brother Mike graduated from Texas A & M University with a degree in Animal Science, and he oversees the family feed yard, Rio Beef Feedyard in San Manuel.

Sam passed away in 1984 and the decision was made to close the Harlingen operation and Ron moved to the Edinburg store to assist Tony with the Edinburg operations.

In 1999 the company decided to sell both the Edinburg and McAllen buildings and relocate to a central location on Expressway 83 in San Juan, TX to better serve the Rio Grande Valley Area, which has proven to be a good decision.
